VMware’s 2009 Virtualization Forum is back and is coming to a city near you.  This year’s Forum includes a focus on applying virtualization in the public sector and Education.  From the Forum website:

“Public Sector. Hear how a Public Sector organization avoided $320,000 in hardware acquisition costs. You’ll also hear how the Public Sector is able to:

  • Consolidate servers and lower energy costs
    Provide remote PC access
    Handle COOP planning

Education. Hear how a major university in the Education industry cut server provisioning time from months to minutes and moves 1,000 to 5,000 mailboxes a night, ten times faster than before. You’ll also hear how Education is:

  • Increasing desktop security
    Supporting multiple operating environments
Providing fast provisioning of desktops for test labs and other uses”

Govplace will be attending the Orange County event on November 10.  Check out Forum details, full agenda and registration information.  Web cast available too.
